It started snowing in Iceland this weekend. The snow obviously reminds me of Christmas and few things say Christmas like the smell of baked cinnamon. Candyland – Vanilla Cake With Milka Chocolate & Orange Flavored Buttercream
This cake is ideal to celebrate any birthday, be it 5 or 75 years. It will make everybody happy (except those who are detoxing 😉 ).
I baked this vanilla cake, it’s perfect for a two-layer 9 inch cake or a three-layer 8 inch cake. I added 100 g of Milka Caramel Cream Chocolate, roughly chopped, to the dough just before I divided the batter between the cake pans. It’s so so so delicious! Continue reading

Today I baked this cake with blueberry compote and vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. I piped the cake to make it look like a rose. Here’s a fantastic tutorial on how to make this wonderful buttercream rose. Continue reading

It took me a while to find the perfect recipe but one day while traveling in London I visited Peggy Porschen’s Parlour where I finally tasted the perfect cream cheese frosting! I (almost) immediately ordered her book Boutique baking where I found the recipe amongst many other fantastic recipes. Continue reading
